Current and Past Projects
Glass Gardens spreads joy by plants. The Norfolk based pop-up shop hosts terrarium classes at local businesses and private parties. I rebuilt the website and provide communication strategy consulting and implementation. I assist in organizing events and keep website information up to date.
Velo Girl Rides provides cycle tour experiences through the Blue Ridge Mountains. Cycling is a wonderful and carbon free way to explore! I provide web and social media communication analysis consultation to VGR, and am helping build and implement a communication strategy that attracts new clients in their target market.
The Cville Veg Fest offers a unique experience of local vegetarian cuisine, animal-friendly vendors, non-profits, and entertainment. There are several educational sessions with speakers and nutrition professionals. I rebuilt and maintain the website, and provide online communication strategy and implementation consulting. I also am acting as Festival Organizer for the 2015 festival and plan to document the festival planning process to improve planning for future years and organizers.
Probably one of the most important initiatives I've gotten involved in, Transition Streets aims to help communities learn to adapt to climate change by adopting simple and repeatable behaviors with their neighbors.
I am currently working to help with the marketing for the national rollout which will be happening this year. I have provided design and information architecture feedback on their website as well as feedback on their current messaging ideas for marketing the campaign.
I love Peacecorn! Peacecorn is committed to promoting local economies and organic sustainable food practices while serving organic non-GMO gourmet flavorful popcorn. I built and help maintain the website and create marketing materials for Peacecorn. I also provide marketing consulting services from time to time.
I got involved with Better World Betty by attending a Zero Waste Warriors event and signed up to volunteer on other internal initiatives. I performed an analysis of the organization's Customer Relations Management (CRM) software and set it up to keep track of communication efforts for various initiatives and campaigns. I've provided user experience feedback about fundraising platforms the group is considering for future campaigns.
I continue to be active in the Zero Waste Warriors group attending events and look forward to providing continued media, software, and user experience support to Better World Betty.
As a former foster child, getting involved in an organization that aims to ensure foster youth can succeed and live independently was important to me. I gave a speech to the group about the obstacles that life may present to one coming out of foster care and how to constructively move past them. I am working on an initiative to help the group digitize their student files. I also have provided graphic design and website evaluation support for the group. I also made a friend for life. The director, Sarah, and I connected immediately and I truly enjoy the time I spend with her.
