Are you thankful for your toilet?

Agility Recovery will donate $1 to the Red Cross up to $15,000 for every use of the #AgilityThankful hashtag on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.

November is always a month of reflecting on where you place your gratitude. When I sit and ponder what I'm grateful for, a whole list of ideas, places, foods, family and friends rattle around in my brain.

Courage

However, I think the thing I am most thankful for right now, though, is the courage to sit here and write these words, and the courage to try and start taking responsibility for my actions. Of course, in general I'm a responsible person. I play by most of the "rules," but what about my mental space? I want to be more responsible for my mental space, and work towards finding out if it is truly possible to "feed the good wolf." How do my thoughts and subsequent choices impact my world and experience. The way I do this is by considering what Small Action I can take to contribute positively, and see how that makes a difference in my everyday life, thought patterns, and overall happiness.

My Luxurious Lifestyle

I am also incredibly thankful for my freedom, my country, and the men and women who fight hard to protect those freedoms. I don't always agree 100% with what we're doing as a country in terms of politics and economic choices (and I'll admit, I've been lazy about exercising my right to vote the past few years), but I am grateful that I have the option. I'm thankful to have lived in lavish luxury my entire life, compared to the majority of the world's population, because of these freedoms.

I've never been outside the U.S. so I don't really fully understand how well we've "got it made," but I do know that it's something worth my gratitude.

My Toilet

Coincidentally today is also World Toilet Day. I'm not really sure where I stand on the issue of economizing the toilets or just giving them away to those in need, but it makes me so grateful for my toilet.
